Nebraska Dept. Health & Human Services Internship

DHHS is a very large government agency with approximately 6,000 employees statewide. Therefore our video and audio communications needs are large as well. This means we have opportunities for interns to truly immerse themselves in practical applications through internships with DHHS, Communications and Legislative Services Section (CLS).

There are many jobs for Journalism students in governments at the local, state and federal levels. During this time of economic uncertainty why not expand your job possibilities by gaining experience in a large state government agency.

We have numerous opportunities in the video/audio production area for interested students who want to gain hands-on experience in a professional environment with professional level production equipment. We utilize DVCAM format Sony DSR390 camcorders, and an AVID Adrenaline editing system. All of this is housed in a production studio. Also, there are opportunities for location shoots.

We support our Department by providing Flash web streaming options so you could gain practical experience in this front line technology as well!

We are within walking or biking distance to the downtown campus (14thSt. to Centennial Mall So., 'L' St. to 'M' St.) so you can even save gas while interning with DHHS!

We are unable to pay for internships but the experience you gain in a very accessible location may be just what you need. You can be an underclass student or a graduate student and we promise you will add professional experience to your brag books – exactly what you need to enhance your job search!

Another plus is that we are very willing to work with students who only have a limited number of hours a week to put into an internship. If you can put in even 6-8 hours per week we would like to talk to you.
