Unpaid creative internship with Miss America program

BUILD YOUR PORTFOLIO WITH PRINT ADS

Brittany Jeffers, a 2008 graduate of UNL with a degree in Broadcast Journalism, is currently employed at KLKN channel 8 in Lincoln as well as the current Miss Nebraska 2009.  Brittany was fortunate to have had two internships while at UNL and understands the value of gaining real world experience prior to graduation.  She would like to offer that same opportunity to other students at UNL.

As Miss Nebraska, Brittany is preparing for the Miss America competition to be held in January 2010 in Las Vegas, Nev.  A large part of the preparation is Public Relations and promoting the great State of Nebraska.  She has traveled the state extensively and has also traveled to Washington state and Florida with trips to New York and Washington D.C. planned for October. In all of her travels she promotes her alma-mater as well as her state.

One of the most important avenues to promote Nebraska is by featuring the state’s best assets, such as UNL, Nebraska Travel and Tourism, Cabelas and UPRR in the Miss America program book.  Interns are needed to create “spec” ads that Brittany can show businesses or donors for sponsorship.  Sponsorship ads in the book are seen by tens of thousands of viewers nationwide.
