Reuters editorial internships

Thomson Reuters is now accepting applications for editorial internships for the summer of 2010. The application deadline is Dec. 1, 2010.

Thomson Reuters will accept online applications only. It will host interns in New York, Washington, Chicago, Los Angeles, Boston, Toronto and various cities in Latin America. Spanish or Portuguese is required for Latin America.

While many media companies have slashed intern programs or are not hiring them when the internship is complete, Thomson Reuters is growing. It took 14 interns in the summer of 2009. One of those has been hired full-time, and three more have been extended beyond the 10-week program and have an excellent chance of being hired. In 2008, Thomson Reuters hired three from a class of 11 interns.

To find the job posting, applicants should go to the 'careers' section of www.thomsonreuters.com, and in the JOB SEARCH bar, type JOURNALISM INTERNSHIP or EDITORIAL INTERNSHIP PROGRAM.

For more information about what Thomson Reuters look for in interns, go to the STUDENT CENTER of the CAREERS section of the web site, the BACHELORS AND MASTERS DEGREE section and look under AMERICAS JOURNALISM SUMMER INTERNSHIPS.

If you have further questions about the program, please contact Greg McCune, Internship Coordinator, at greg.mccune@thomsonreuters.com; Jane Light, Americas Training Manager at jane.light@thomsonreuters.com; or Theresa Lee, Editorial Recruiter, at theresa.lee@thomsonreuters.com.
