Lincoln Saltdogs Internship
The Lincoln Saltdogs are seeking their 2010 Broadcasting Intern. The internship begins between April 1 and April 15, and runs through the conclusion of the season. The 2010 regular season ends on August 29, with the playoffs running as late as September 12. The right candidate will:
- Have excellent written and verbal skills
- Have good computer skills; a working knowledge of InDesign and Photoshop is a plus
- Have a solid knowledge of the game of baseball
The duties for the broadcasting intern include:
- Working directly with the Director of Broadcasting in all aspects of Broadcast and Media Relations duties
- Assisting in supervision of the press box during games
- Compiling pregame and postgame reports, and assist media with interviews
- Publishing game day program insert
- Assisting in updating and publishing team media guide
- Updating team website on a daily basis
- Assisting Saltdogs staff and interns as needed
On the air: On-air work is NOT GUARANTEED, but is possible for the right candidate. On-air opportunities include:
- Interviews for the pregame show
- Studio host/producer for road games
- Color commentary for home games
- Select innings of play-by-play
Compensation is $500 per month. The intern will also earn additional income from being the studio host/producer for road games.
