The inaugural semester of our partnership with the Lincoln Journal Star has been a great success. The six students will soon be flying on the Lee Enterprise corporate jet to present to the CEO of the company. Some of these students are also accepting full time jobs, going straight from graduation into a position that pays well and offers excellent benefits in addition to great chances for promotions, raises, and relocation.
Are you ready to compete for one of the six spots for next fall?
Students will be selected, based on applications, for a 3 credit-hour class that will meet Tuesdays from 2 - 5 pm fall semester at the Lincoln Journal Star. Enrollment in this class also will afford students a lab experience, a 20-hour a week, paid internship in media sales at the Lincoln Journal Star.
This course will focus on challenges and opportunities in media sales in a changing environment, in which print and broadcast are blending and digital formats have emerged. Students completing this course will be ready to sell media across all platforms and also will have an opportunity to qualify for fulltime positions with Lee Enterprises and the Lincoln Journal Star upon graduation.
The application process will be relatively quick, so that students will know by Finals Week whether they have been selected.
