NET Student Internship openings for this summer and fall

NET has three student internship openings beginning this summer. Attached is the information NET has been using to have students apply.
The deadline for applications for both summer and fall is May 9.
NET is interested in students for its graphics area and has openings in sports and long form documentary. A second intern may be assigned to videography and editing as well. NET Radio is also looking for an intern.

NET Television in partnership with the College of Journalism and Mass Communications and with the Hixson Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts is offering a limited number of internship opportunities for majors in broadcasting and film.
The internships will be distributed among the three production areas and the support units at NET. The production units are News and Public Affairs, Sports and Local Programs, and the Long Form and Documentary Unit. In addition, up to two internships are available in videography/camera crew and in editing.
The internships will be for a minimum of 10 hours per week and will be paid at $7.50 per hour. The selection process will be competitive involving a written application and a recommendation from a faculty member from your college.
The internships are for the summer with an option to extend additional semesters if NET, the student intern and the student’s faculty advisor agree.
To apply create a Word document based on the following format and email as an attachment to Michael Farrell, TV Production Manager at NET Television. ( mfarrell@netNebraska.org ). Send a copy to your faculty advisor or sponsor.

Attach your resume.
Write a brief description (1/2 page) of your professional and career goals and how an internship with NET in your areas of interest would help you achieve those goals.
Have your advisor or another faculty member who knows your work send an email in support of your application.
NET will screen the applications for Summer Internships and make a first cut selection of candidates for in-person interviews. NET expects to interview candidates early the week of May 12 and to complete the selection process prior to the 14th of May. Anticipated start date will be the 16th.
If you are interested in applying for fall semester send us you application now, please. We will hold a position for you if you are successful even if you are not available for the summer.
Currently we have three openings that we will fill in this round. There may be more openings at the end of the summer but there is no guarantee, so apply now.
