UNL Theatre Dept. needs voice actors
The UNL Theatre Department is looking for four different people to record some brief voice-over work for an upcoming production of "An American Daughter" here on campus.
One person would be needed to portray a male afternoon DJ on an oldies radio station. Another would be used as an announcer for the same radio station's station ID spots. Two other people would be used to portray a couple characters on a commercial for the radio station.
There is only a few minutes of voice recording. Their sound designers expect each line to only require a couple of takes.
The department is primarily interested in grads or upperclassmen, partially because An American Daughter is the "graduate show" in this department (four out of the five designers are graduate students along with the majority of the cast) and also because they like to use people who have a developed voice/persona. However, undergraduates are also encouraged to try out.
You would need to audition or interview for the part. Ideally, they'd like to have that done by the 25th so they can get information out to publicity to use in the program. There is no pay for this, but you would be credited in the program for the production
For questions, or to arrange an audition, contact the production's Sound Designer Theron Seckington at tseckington@gmail, or on his cell phone at 314.378.8143.
