KOLN-TV Video Specialist

KOLN/KGIN-TV is accepting applications for full-time Video Specialists in our Lincoln office.

The Video Specialist has general responsibility for responding to news coverage needs with immediacy, emphasizing video collection and dissemination on all available media.  The video specialist uses several tools to gather video/audio, responding quickly to be first with news coverage in a position which focuses on video/audio though should be able to collect and convey facts as needed.

Duties include, but are not limited to: competent and professional operation of several video-audio gathering/recording tools, professional demeanor with news coverage interactions, ability to transport and deploy equipment quickly and safely to cover news, ability to be first with news coverage, basic news judgment, ability to follow directions and work well with people.

Qualifications include:
Media-related bachelor’s degree or equivalent job experience in journalism.  Strong ability to get video-audio, edit, write and report accurately and creatively under deadline pressure.  Understanding of newsroom operations and basic professional field news gathering/news coverage practices.  Must maintain a permanent residence within 30 minutes of station and meet physical requirements of the position. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.  A valid driver's license is required.
