FREELANCE GIG in Santa Monica, Calif. -- Front End Web Developer

The Santa Monica Mirror is looking to redo the look, design, and feel
of its community news Web site for the Santa Monica Mirror --
SMmirror.com.

We seek a designer that knows how to make information easy to find,
follow through, make the overall aesthetic of the website nice and have
a Santa Monica vibe.   With the conglomeration of media, Internet is
the future of any media enterprise.  You must have the knowledge and
ability to weave video, multiple pictures, print stories, blogs, etc.,
into a site that has good appeal, easy navigation, and most of all be
interactive.   Also, have the ability to strategically place banners
and spots for advertisements (both display and video).

We will fly out the designer for a weekend in Santa Monica so that you
can get the feel, walk around the city and have an idea of the type of
people, the atmosphere, and the style that the community has.  We will
pay for flight and housing.

After the trip, you can work on this Web site remotely from home.  We
will communicate and review throughout the entire production of this
Web site.

This is a free lance gig, you will be hired as an independent contractor and will receive a 10-99 form.

Pay:
$1,500 to start and will be negotiated depending on time, experience, skill etc, and timeliness.
