Time Flies When You Are Having Fun!

The past two weeks have been busy...and interesting. I think I came into this internship expecting to be an intern. My intern coordinators expected me to be a suto-employee. When I say suto employee I don't mean doing more work (I have worked on every project that has come into the pr department this summer), I mean they seemed upset that I haven't fallen into step with the social aspect of working at Bozell.

I am not the company picnic type of person and I rarely spend my free time with those individuals that I have to spend my work time with. No offense to any of them, but I don't like anybody enough to spend every waking hour with them. However, I refuse o let the assumptions of others ruin an otherwise really good thing!

The whole experience has been a bit "trial by fire", but that is what I wanted. Yet, the past two weeks have been FILLED with work. I mean I have written, pitched, called, planned, arranged, discussed and organized within an inch of my life. Mostly for the JDRF project and theLiteracy Center .

We have already raised over $1,000 for the JDRF and our work on the Literacy Center project has the head of art direction calling us the best inter group ever. While I like compliments and meeting my goals, I have to say the best part is knowing that the ads and plans I helped with will actually see the light of day. If in six months you cannot escape outdoor boards and quipy posters about reading, you will have myself and my fellow interns to thank!

I am a senior Advertising and History double major (minors in English and Marketing). This summer I am interning with Bozell Advertising Agency in Omaha, NE. Myself and four other student interns (Public Relations-Me!-, Account Service, Art Direction, Copy Writing and New Media) from across North America will make up a five person campaigns team.
