Only Two Weeks Left
June 26, 2007 Anna Latta, United States Olympic Committee in Colorado Springs, CO
I've been extremely busy the past few weeks! I can't believe I only have 2 weeks left! The Pan American Games are going on in Rio right now, and I've been writing scripts for each of the televised events of every day. Eventually they will be highlight videos for the web page, with video, music and the voice overs. There are two people who come in every day to read the scripts, and I've been getting to direct them. I've started editing the audio together, but we don't have any of the footage yet, so I can't finish anything. It's been a good experience getting to write so much, though, and directing people doing voice overs is more difficult than I would have thought.
This weekend all the interns are taking a cycling lesson in the velodrome! I'm pretty excited for that. I've never been on a road bike before, let alone ridden on a slanted track. I hope I don't tip over! We got to watch some races in the velodrome on the 4th of July. I could not believe how fast they go!!
Also this weekend we are planning to hike up Pike's Peak. It's an all day hike so we are going to start at 5 am. There is a train that takes tourists to the top, so we are going to buy a ticket and catch a ride back down.
I've been able to do a lot of really cool things here. For instance, we went to a professional Lacrosse game in Denver last weekend. It was at Invesco Field. I'm not a Broncos fan, but it was really cool to be in the stadium. My friends and I got our t-shirts this week from the running club we joined. I remember when we started it seemed like it would be forever before we were able to get our shirts!! Other than that, I've just been taking it easy by the pool.
Next week I will be finishing up with the Pan Am scripts, then getting started on my next project!
