Semi-rough Start
June 2 , 2007
Dan Sheppard, Grey New York, New York City, NY.
Got off to a semi-rough start. Missed my first flight, went on standby for the second and that plane got booked but my luggage went on it anyway. So, they sent me to JFK airport instead of La Guardia where my bags went. Smart, huh?
I get on the plane and there was a bolt in one of their tires and we had to sit on plane for around 45 minutes to get the tire changed. I got to JFK airport and took a shuttle bus to La Guardia (about an hour away in medium traffic) and I got there just in time to find out......my luggage was lost. Until I get a call that they found it I am stuck wearing what I have on.
New York City is awesome. My roommates are really cool too. I'm living with four other guys in a suite in Columbia University dorms. I met some people on my floor and we all hung out last night, one of them is even from Puerto Rico, like me.
As soon as I get my camera in my bags I will take some pictures of the view from my room. It's awesome...18 stories high overlooking the heart of the city.
Subway tip: If you plan to use the subway to get to and from work, buy an unlimited pass. Within a month of using the subway twice a day and five times a week (the minimum if you have to get to work with it) it will pay for itself.
I start on Monday.
'Til my next entry.
I'm Dan Sheppard, a junior advertising major. This summer I have a fantastic position as a creative intern at Grey New York ad agency in New York City. This is the first job I have ever had (and in NY no less), so it is going to be a very new experience for me. Email Me , View All Dan's Entries |
