Acceptance
Graduate students will receive a letter of acceptance into the master's program in journalism from the Chair, Graduate Committee and a certificate of admission from the Graduate Admissions office.
Before First Semester
- Students will receive a letter with the name of contact person from the Chair, Graduate Committee, College of Journalism and Mass Communications.
- Students should schedule a meeting or phone your contact person.
- Students should meet with your contact person to discuss first semester classes.
First Semester
- Select an adviser; it can be your contact person or a professor in your specialization.
- Meet with adviser; select your plan of study committee.
- With your adviser and committee, meet and receive approval for your Memorandum of Courses and to discuss ideas for your professional project or thesis ideas, if applicable.
After First Semester
Consult your adviser before course registration each semester. When you are ready to begin your professional project or thesis, if applicable, talk to your adviser about potential committee members.
