Marketing, Communications, and Advertising (MCA)

Scott Barry chose the MCA program because he wanted a program that didn't limit him to one field of study, but one that touched on different areas, while still emphasizing my interest in advertising. After graduating UNK in 2005, Scott took an internship with Walt Disney World Parks and Resorts where he worked in the Magic Kingdom and later moved up to Disney's Sales and Marketing Department. After returning to Nebraska, Scott worked as a Realtor for Century 21 Midlands in Kearney before coming to Lincoln and starting the MCA program. After finishing his master's Scott would like to live in a big city like New York and gain agency experience, ultimately as a Copywriter. Later, I would like to parley that experience into a teaching career at a University. His hobbies include photography, traveling, working out, going out with friends, golf, and Husker football. Some of his favorite quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson is, "Success: To laugh often and much, to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children, to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends, to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others, to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded!"
