Zenebe Beyene

Ph.D. Journalsim and Political Science

Zenebe Beyene is a graduate student in the Journalism and Political Science departments at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Originally from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Zenebe earned his Bachelor of Education from Kotebe College of Teacher Education in Ethiopia, a Master of Arts from Addis Ababa University in Ethiopia, and a Master of Arts from the College of Journalism and Mass Communications at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Zenebe chose CoJMC because UNL has signed a memorandum of understanding with his home institute, Addis Ababa University that enabled him to choose CoJMC. Once he joined the program, he felt that he made the right decision. Swimming, reading books, listening to current affairs, making friends, community service and visiting places are how Zenebe likes to spend his free time. Upon graduation, Zenebe wants to specialize in media and human rights, conduct research and teach in his home institute all the while making a difference. His love for life and education has led him to this thought, "Life is too short for revenge. Forgive wrong doings and move forward, as 'Forgiveness is the sweetest revenge.'"
