Melissa Drozda

M.A. News-Editorial

Melissa Drozda is currently seeking her Master of Arts degree with an emphasis in News-Editorial. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology and English from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Before she transferred to CoJMC, she was in the Master of Science program in Biological Sciences, Microbiology and Molecular Genetics program. Melissa wants to pursue science writing and science communication so she applied to the MA program in News-Editorial. As an undergraduate, Melissa ran track and cross-country, and developed a love of science. Melissa says discoveries in science impact our lives, our health and future and she thinks effective science communication is equally as important as the research. One day Melissa would like to write for a scientific journal or institute and hopefully publish a book about issues affecting science communication. Interestingly, Melissa is from Omaha, Nebraska, and has two cats that love to lie on her Journalism books and papers when she's trying to read.
