Kelly Mosier
M.A. Broadcasting
Originally from Davenport, Nebraska, Kelley Mosier is a graduate student in the Broadcast Journalism program and received his Bachelor of Journalism from the College of Journalism. Kelly chose the University of Nebraska because of the great relationship he created with its professors as an undergraduate. After experiencing international reporting through a Sri Lanka depth reporting class he decided to continue his education past his undergraduate degree and pursue a master's degree. After graduation Kelly hopes to continue working with new media and finding new models for developing journalism and distribution in the 21st century. He feels that there are limitless possibilities for individuals to create fantastic multi-media journalism on a level that has never been seen before. Kelly currently works full-time for the University with HuskerVision, the athletic department's television production arm. He currently oversees an undergraduate student staff of around 35 student interns as well as working directly with Football, Volleyball, Men's Basketball, and Baseball to develop coach's shows, live in game entertainment, and internet content. HuskerVision is currently working on transitioning to the world of tapeless HD media, which Kelly is heavily involved with and is providing him with a wealth of knowledge about video production in the 21st century. Kelly enjoys keeping up with the foreign and independent film scene and is very grateful that the University has wonderful resources, such as the Ross Theater, to bring such a wonderful film culture to Lincoln. He also loves biking and takes every opportunity to hit the great commuter trails in the city. Some of his favorite quotes include, "In the water I saw my father's face, and that face saw the face of its father, and so on, and so on, reflecting backward to the beginning of time, to the face of God, in whose image we were created. We burned with love for ourselves, all of us, starters of the fire we suffered - our love was the affliction for which only our love was the cure..." from Jonathan Safran Foer's "Everything is Illuminated" and "For sale; baby shoes, never used," by Ernest Hemmingway.
