John Neidel

M.A. Broadcast

John Neidel, a native of Austin, Texas, is working towards his Master of Arts in broadcast journalism.  He graduated from Baylor University in May of 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in film and digital media.  John is attending graduate school to not only earn his master's but also to gain more experience in sports broadcasting before getting a full-time job.  He chose UNL because of the fine reputation of the broadcasting program.  Also, he has always been a huge Husker sports fan, and having an opportunity to announce Husker athletics is very exciting.  John's interests include watching an insane amount of sports, especially college football.  He also enjoys hitting the links (that's golf), playing tennis, and singing when he can.  Whenever he's home, John enjoys spending time with family and friends and eating at the many amazing restaurants in Austin.  After graduation, John hopes to work in Austin, preferably in radio, while doing some freelance announcing.  His goal is to be the radio voice of a major university.  You can hear some of John's work at www.johnneidel.com.
