!!New Scholarships!! are being made available through donors' gifts to the Harris Center for Judaic Studies, a $100 Book Scholarship named "The Bernice Harris Book Scholarship" is available to students who enroll in a Judaic Studies course, excluding JS 339/HS 339, The Holocaust and the $500 Tuition Assistance Award to Judaic Studies minors. You may request your professor or instructor to write a letter of recommendation on your behalf to the Judaic Studies director for this award or email our director for more information about applying for this scholarship, Dr. Jean Cahan at jcahan1@unl.edu.
The Harris Center Travel Scholarship Award is given annually or otherwise to full-time undergraduate students minoring in Judaic Studies, College of Arts & Sciences, University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Candidates may be enrolled in one or more Judaic Studies courses. The Leona & Joe Gotsdiner Scholarship Fund Award is given annually or otherwise to full-time undergraduate students minoring in Judaic Studies, College of Arts & Sciences, University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Candidates may be enrolled in one or more Judaic Studies courses and/or have demonstrated interest in the area of Judaic Studies following graduation from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Must be nominated by faculty member or instructor. The Henry & Dorothy Riekes Scholarship Fund Award is given annually to one or more full or part-time students in College of Arts & Sciences enrolled in one Judaic Studies course to apply toward JS Minor during the academic year in which award is given. Sophomore class standing or above. One letter of recommendation should come from a faculty member affiliated with the Norman and Bernice Harris Center for Judaic Studies. The Henry & Dorothy Riekes Scholarship Fund award is distributed through the Dean's Office of the College of Arts & Sciences. For more information please click here.

Nebraska Minority Justice Committee has established a LSAT Prep Scholarship Program. The program provides a scholarship for a Kaplan LSAT Prep Course and covers the cost of registering for the LSAT exam. The course includes 14 sessions, 3.5 hours in length, for a total of 49 hours. Online assistance is also available, and students may take the course a second time at no additional cost if the student does not take the test or wants to retake it. ELIGIBILITY: You must be racial/ethnic minority, reside in Nebraska and demonstrate economic need. Recipients are required to complete the LSAT prep course and take the LSAT exam on the designated date. Recipients are required to apply to at least one law school in Nebraska and indicate a genuine interest in staying in Nebraska after law school. To APPLY: Submit an application available online at www.nelegaldiversity.org. Please check their website for applicable deadlines. Proof of economic need, academic achievement, resume, recommendation letters and interest in law: personal statement that discusses why the applicant is a strong candidate for the scholarship, career goals and reasons for pursuing legal education of not more than 500 words. Applicants will be notified in writing by the Review Committee and scholarship recipients will be recognized at the Nebraska State Bar Association's Annual Legal Diversity Summit.
