Because we feel diversity is important, our members come from many different backgrounds and experiences.

The Fraternity scholarship requirement to pledge is a minimum of a “B” average from high school or a “C+” average from the previous college completed term. Many chapters have academic requirements that are higher than the Fraternity’s.

A legacy is the sister, daughter or granddaughter of an initiated Kappa. While we give careful consideration to legacies given their knowledge of and exposure to Kappa, there are often more legacies enrolled in recruitment than quota space allows.

Does Kappa have a point system?
Kappa Kappa Gamma does not employ a point system for its members. The fraternity believes that education comes first in a woman’s college experience. Do I have to live in the house all four years?
Freshmen members will live outside the house and then be required to live in their entire sophomore year. After living in for a whole year, members can choose to live out if the situation works better for them. In order to hold an officer position, the member must live in during the year as an officer.

Does Kappa require study hours?
Members of Kappa are not required to reach a certain amount of study hours per week. Each woman has different study habits, so asking for logged study time is somewhat impractical. Kappa has a 24 hour Quiet Room for girls studying in the house, while many women choose to study at local coffee houses, the library, or the Union. The Vice President of Scholarship can help you gain important study habits and even set you up with a study buddy if you desire.

What are the rooms like?
Most rooms in Sigma Chapter are two person bedrooms. There are a variety of different arranged rooms, some having bunk beds, others with bed/desk units, and others with beds on the ground. All rooms include two closets and storage units such as dressers or bookcases.
