Information about the Komensky Club at UNL
The principal function
of the Komensky Club is to provide events that focus on culture and
history and that bring together people of diverse backgrounds who
share Czech interests. Readers of "Nas Svet"
are encouraged to attend club events and to particpate in other
activities such as this newsletter in order to enhance awareness of
the Czech culture in Nebraska communities.
Events are usually
scheduled twice a month during the regular school year, breaking
during Christmas and summer. Meetings are held on the University of
Nebraska at Lincoln campus in the Nebraska Union, from 7:00 p.m. to
9:00 p.m. unless otherwise stated.
Students and
non-students alike are invited to join the Komensky Club. Joining
the club is easy and requires a nominal membership fee: $3.00 for
students and $8.00 for non-students. The membership fee helps
finance the films, newsletters, and other special
activities.
