Gratias Agit Award to Komensky Club

Dear friends, I would like to share with you some good news.  The Czech Komensky Club has been awarded the Gratias Agit Award, given by the Government of the Czech Republic to meritorious individuals ad organizations,  for the past 101 years of its cultural programs for the University of Nebraska and to the Lincoln community.  The award is a very prestigious one, and many movers and shakers of the world received it before us.  We are very proud recipients. We do realize that it is in the name of countless other members before us that we will accept the award. I would like to thank Sonja Kapoun, Gretchen Mills, Ron, Stiles, who are the past presidents of the Club (and whose addresses I still have).

In June C.J. Svagera and myself are  flying to the Czech Republic, where the Komensky Club receives the award.  Our journey is paid for by the Cz. Ministry of Culture.

We are grateful to the Czech Government for the honor.  It is a very prestigious award!
