302 BURNETT HALL

Burnett HallThe Modern Languages Laboratory at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln is located in Burnett Hall 302. The Lab is staffed and maintained by Hans Gilde, Randall Watson, Graduate Teaching Assistants, and student workers.

The Language Lab is controlled by the Sony LLC-9000 Language Lab System with 64 audio student positions. The system is capable of either independent work by students or instructor-led learning via audio cassette playback and recording through headsets.

Most of the work done by our students in the Lab is on an independent, out-of-class basis. We distribute the audio programs by taping them onto audio cassettes provided by the students. We use Sony CCP-1310F cassette duplicators for making copies for students.

The Language Lab also has video and computer capabilities. Twenty-nine student positions can receive video programming from the console. Thirty positions have 17" flatpanel iMacs and two have eMacs. They have audio in and out through the tape decks. All computers are connected to a Mac G5 file server and also to the Internet.

To send an E-mail to the Language Lab, use the following address but replace the word "at" - and the quotation marks - with the @ symbol: langlab2"at"unl.edu.
