Media Smarts: Broadcasting,
Journalism, & Sports Communication

Are you fascinated by the news media or sports communication? Do you see yourself as an investigative journalist, a TV reporter who asks the hard-hitting questions in interviews, or a production professional working behind-the-scenes in print, television, or digital news media? Or do you love sports and dream of working in sports broadcasting or reporting? If you answered "yes" to any of these, Media Smarts: Broadcasting, Journalism, and Sports Communication is for you!

You will live in Sandoz Hall with other members of Media Smarts and the members of the other learning community sponsored by the College of Journalism and Mass Communications: Advertising & PR: Opening the Door to Communication Careers.

You will connect with professors, upperclass students, and alumni working in broadcasting and journalism, and you will visit newspapers and broadcast studios, as well as HuskerVision, NET's remote sports broadcasting truck, and UNL's Sports Information office.
