Justin Smith Morrill Scholars: Engaging, Serving, and Leading

The Justin Smith Morrill Scholars program draws upon the life experience, experiences and accomplishments of Justin Smith Morrill, author of the Land-Grand College Acts of 1862 and 1890, to teach students to embrace and engage in life-long interdisciplinary "renaissance" learning and education, advance the public good through social and civic engagements and service, exhibit and model the qualities of a successful leader, and act in a leadership role when and where needed and appropriate, and to appreciate and articulate the importance of the Land-Grant College Acts and the role of the Land-Grant University in the modern era. Our students are committed to becoming responsible, independent citizens who are intellectually curious, articulate, confident and resourceful.
