If you are a woman or man interested in opportunities for women in math, science, and/or technology fields, this learning community is for you. You will live in Abel Hall.  In the fall semester, you will take Math 198 and Sociology 101. Math 198 a seminar course designed specifically for members of the learning community, and your Sociology 101 will be a special section reserved for community members. In MATH 198, you will learn about careers in the math and science fields, and you will have the opportunity to meet and network with women in a variety of science, technology, engineering, and math fields. In the spring semester, you will take Philosophy 225: Environmental Ethics with others in your learning community. During the year, you will also take math and sciences courses fitting your career goals and interests.


Throughout your first year at UNL as a member of the learning community, you will also have the chance to connect with female faculty in math and the sciences, perhaps even finding a mentor. Along with your learning community peers, you will learn about resources and opportunities for women in math and science. Planned events include projects connecting math and science with the arts and the environment, as well as community outreach and service projects. This community is new for the 2013-2014 Academic Year and seats are limited, so be sure to reserve your seat ASAP by returning your Housing Contract as soon as you can!
