Opportunities to acquire rare or limited special materials do not happen often, and when liaison librarians become aware that such materials are available, Acquisi-tions will work with the librarian to acquire the material.

Any premium required by the auction body must be paid from the librarian’s fund, and no bid may be made for more than the free dollars in the fund.

Procedures

All bidding is done by the Accounting Specialist in Acquisitions or by the Chair of Acquisitions.

Items to be located in Special Collections must be approved by the head of Special Collections prior to the bidding.
