Library Features:


1. Library Staff are trained to:

  • Locate and print patents
  • Patent search assistance is available if an appointment is made with a staff member. Staff can guide through the preliminary search procedure and help use the resources.
  • Search federally registered trademarks and logos

2. Library Services:

  • Patents printed and mailed or faxed (fee based)
  • Retrieve Official Gazettes containing short descriptions of specified patents or trademarks
  • Trademark search results printed and mailed or faxed(fee based)
  • Availability of brochures and flyers explaining the patent and trademark filing process
  • Lists of attorneys and agents registered with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office

3. Library Resources:

  • Patent search room including CASSIS2 workstation and printer
  • Official Gazette of the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Patents back to 1872
  • Official gazette of the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Trademarks back to 1879
  • U.S. patents on microfilm, CD-ROM, and DVD
  • USPTO Manual of Classification, Index, and Class Definitions
