FACILITIES
The Don L. Love Memorial Library is the main library in the University of Nebraska-Lincoln library system. Located on the southern edge of City Campus, it is bounded by two lovely botanical areas, Love Garden and Cather Garden.
Love Library provides a comfortable, secure environment for individuals and groups to study and do research. A wireless network, as well as some standard ports, provides users with access to the Internet via personal laptop computers or those that can be checked out at the Circulation Desk. Individual study rooms, as well as a large reading room for quiet study, are available. Library users have access to the IRIS Catalog, including a wide variety of databases and some full-text, as well as general use computers. Staff are available to answer questions and provide reference assistance.
COLLECTIONS
Love Library provides services and collections for all levels of the social sciences and humanities, including art, business, education, geography, history, journalism, language, literature, philosophy, political science, psychology, religion and sociology.
Undergraduate-level materials for the areas in which the other libraries in the system hold research-level materials are also found in Love Library, with the exceptions of Music, Architecture and C.Y. Thompson Libraries.
The Love Library Call Number Locator allows you to find where materials are shelved in the stacks in Love North, Love South, and the Link between the two buildings.
Love Library also contains collections of Nebraska, United States, United Nations and the Organization of American States publications. For information on finding government documents online, see the Government Documents Department's Government Resources website.
The University Archives and Special Collections are located in Room 29 South Love. Special Collections' books are cataloged and holdings are in the IRIS catalog. Finding Aids for archival collections are being added to the University Archives and Special Collections web site. University papers of historic value are also available.
Love Library is the center of the UNL Libraries' behind the scenes operations: Acquisitions and Electronic Licensing, Administration, Computer Operations and Research Services, Preservation, Technical Services, Special Collections and the other units that support the collections and services the Libraries offer.
