HISTORY
The Music Library is one of six branch libraries in the UNL Libraries' system. It was established as a branch in the Westbrook Music Building in 1980, in part due to the efforts of the director of the School of Music, Dr.Raymond Haagh. The Music Library honored him in 1997 by naming the library's main room the Raymond H. Haggh Reading Room.
FACILITIES
The Music Library maintains computer workstations to access the UNL Libraries' website (IRIS), where patrons can search the UNL Libraries' catalog, the online databases, and other Internet resources.
Listening facilities
The Music Library maintains facilities for listening to sound recordings on LP, compact disc,and cassette. Special arrangements can be made to listen to 78 and 45 rpm sound recordings and reel-to-reel tapes.
Viewing facilities
Self-service VCRs and TV monitors are available for viewing videotapes and DVDs.
Microform Reader
A reader/printer is available for microfilm and microfiche. A microcard reader is also available by special arrangement.
Copying
There is a self-service photocopy machine that accepts coins and copycards.
COLLECTIONS
The Music Library's holdings of books and scores, sound recordings, periodical subscriptions, and videotapes, CD-ROMs and DVDs, include:
- basic and research collections in music history and theory
- major composer's collected editions
- monuments of music
- study scores and performing scores
- bound sets of periodicals
- important biographical works
- strong holdings in organ and keyboard literature.
The catalog includes items in the Rokahr Family Archive, a library of opera materials collected by Jack Rokahr.The bulk of the collection was received by the Music Library in the spring of 2002.

School of Music recital tapes from student, faculty and ensemble performances can be searched here. Currently there are records for recitals from 1977 through 2007.
