Reading a Catalog Record
You are familiar with the catalog records for books and journals in the UNL Libraries catalog. The catalog records for scores and recordings can look a bit different. For example, some scores and many recordings consist of more than one piece of music. These pieces are usually listed in the catalog record, along with other authors associated with the pieces, such as performers or editors.
In order to prepare for music searching, let's look at an example of a catalog record for a recording:
Things to note: Composers, performers, and performing bodies (in this case the Südwestdeutsches Kammerorchester Pforzheim) are all considered authors in the catalog.
