Firefox update means beta Search Bar update necessary

Some of you may know that Firefox released version 3.5 today. Our search bar wasn’t completely compatible with it, so we made a quick update and it should work fine now. If you aren’t offered an automatic update, then you can go into “Tools…Add Ons” and then click on “Find Updates” to force it to get the latest version. The latest version is version 1.5.2 if you are interested.

Introducing the Future Design of UNL.edu

A process within the UNL Web Developer Network to create a refreshed and reimagined UNL.edu has culminated in a reference design. The design is currently being coded into a new version of UNL site templates and is set for release on August 17, one week prior to the beginning of fall semester. Rental lockers available in Love Library for the summer sessions

There are two sizes:

• 1/2 lockers: $7.00
• Full lockers: $15.00

Both include use of combination lock.

The lockers are available from May 9-August 18 and may be re-rented for the fall semester after August 18.

Locker rentals are handled at the south circulation desk of Love Library.

New search box plugins released at the BetaZone

Just a quick note to let you know that we’ve got a couple of new browser plugins you can install to put UNL Libraries searching capabilities right into the built-in search box of either Firefox or Internet Explorer These plugins add the ability to search the UNL Encore system right there, without needing to come to our website first.

New in Media Services

Check out the new Sound Station in Media Services, 201 Love Library. Transfer cassette tapes and record discs to digital format. The sound station is equipped with a Plus deck 2c-PC Cassette Deck, PC Record Recorder, and Sound Studio programs on a Dell Widescreen.

CONTENTdm Enhancement

A new feature was recently added to CONTENTdm that makes it easier to retrieve images for printing, downloading, or using in PowerPoint. Select any image from the collections, and in the grey toolbar at the top, "Export Image" is now an option. Clicking on "Export Image" will immediately retrieve a full-resolution jpg image for print, click and drag, save, etc. This works on both Macs and PCs.
