Lending a Helping Hand

Sock Monkey visited all seven libraries while at UNL, making new friends and assisting on all kinds of projects!

He literally "hung out" at the Reference desk with welcoming staff, like David Tyler, who answer your questions every day.

visiting Charlene Maxey-Harris

At one point, Sock Monkey answered a few questions himself while he worked a session of the Libraries' "Ask a Question" online chat service. Here he is sitting with Charlene Maxey-Harris, waiting to chat with a student.

Hangin' out with the Huskers

Sock Monkey also took time to meet and study with students!

using RefWorks

Left, Sock Monkey teaches Sarai how to use RefWorks, a new and revolutionary way to set up research paper bibliographies. (Sock Monkey gives the new online service a high rating of 5 bananas!)

"If I had to write research papers now, I'd definitely use this to format and keep track of my bibliography! I love how it downloads citations from online databases."

Below, Sock Monkey studies with Felicia and Chris in the Arbor Room of the C.Y. Thompson Library - the new study area features a sofa, soft chairs, and patio tables. Sock Monkey also took a break from studying to do a little light reading with UNL student, Sean. (left)
