The UNL McNair Scholars Program is a select, competitive honors program seeking top scholars who demonstrate sound academic performance, strong potential for graduate school achievement, and a desire to pursue a career in which a doctorate is required.


How to Apply

First answer these questions to determine your eligibility. If you can answer yes to all of them, there is a place for you in UNL's McNair Program.

Yes No Are you...
a citizen or Permanent Resident of the United States?
currently enrolled, or planning to enroll for the fall semester, in an undergraduate degree program at UNL?
(a) a first-generation university student who also has a demonstrated need/income level established by the U.S. Department of Education
or
(b) a member of a group underrepresented in graduate education?
a sophomore or junior who has completed 52 hours of undergraduate work?
able to verify excellent undergraduate academic achievement (a minimum GPA of 3.0)?
committed to a career path in which a doctorate is required?
willing to participate in all McNair sponsored events?
scholastically competitive and ambitious?
