Catherine Nickel, Associate Professor (Ph.D. University of Nebraska-Lincoln) teaches advanced reading courses, senior seminars on a variety of topics, and graduate classes on both Spanish and Latin American literature. Her research interests include the drama and short stories of Valle-Inclan, contemporary Latin American women authors, and narrative technique, especially the interaction of gender and the narrative voice. She has published studies in Hispania, Romance Notes, and Revista de Estudios Hispanicos, and received the College of Arts and Sciences Outstanding Teaching Award.
