Paschoal
Grossi is a graduate student working with Dr. Lúcia
Massutti de Almeida on the systematics of Brazilian Lucanidae,
Dynastinae, and other Scarabaeoidea at the Universidade Federal
do Paraná (UFPR), in Curitiba, Brazil. His special interest
is the taxonomy and systematics of Neotropical Lucanidae. Paschoal
worked on the Brazilian subgenera of Sclerostomus for
his M.S. thesis at UFPR. He zealously collects stag beetles
in Brazil and, as a result, is describing new taxa and finding
new records. He is interested in the distribution of Brazilian
lucanids and phylogenetic relationships and is working on a
key for the South America lucanid genera. For his Ph.D. he
is completing revisionary work on the tribe Sclerostomini.
He has a great interest in exchanging Scarabaeoidea of the
world, especially South American lucanids. |
