The Chamber Singers is a small vocal ensemble of 24-28 voices created to provide a chamber vocal experience for singers at the School of Music and throughtout the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. The choir explores a broad range of repertoire specializing in literature for unaccompanied vocal performances and chamber ensembles; including works from early music eras, traditional choral chamber music as well as contemporary and new music composed for smaller vocal groups. They specialize in performing concerts in beautiful and unique spaces including the Sheldon Museum of Art, the International Quilt Center and the State Capitol Rotunda. The Singers have also enjoyed recent collaborations with the UNL Philhamonia Chamber Orchestra and the Chiara String Quartet.
Membership in the Chamber Singers is determined by audition each semester, and music majors and non-majors are encouraged to participate in this unique ensemble. Audition and schedule information may be obtained from Dr. Therees Hibbard at thibbard2@unl.edu
