Past UNL Navigators Staff
Darin Durand Email Darin During the next five months, I will be interning with the Navigators’ Personal Resource Team. I refer to this team as the the Navs in-house counseling division because their primary focus is to ensure Navigator staff are receiving the proper care and support they need to minister for a lifetime with a healthy heart and soul. We focus on walking beside staff, young and old, praying with and interceding on their behalf asking God to communicate to those areas of their heart damaged by the destructive power of sin. Sometimes this damage is a result of sin a person willingly chose to engage in or hurt caused by another’s sin against them. Christ came to fulfill the vision set forth by our God in Isaiah 61 (Luke 4), which is to “preach good news to the poor...bind up the broken hearted...proclaim freedom for the captives...release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the LORD’s favor.” Sin and the deceptive nature of our adversary separates us from God and those we love and can place us in a mental, physical and emotional prison. The gospel of Jesus Christ has the power to liberate us from the lies we believe and the destructive consequences of sin. Being set free is a beautiful reality that empowers us to walk more intimately and securely with our Heavenly Father. God has also provided an opportunity for me to minister part time at the United States Air Force Academy. I will be co-leading a study on sexual purity with Darren Lindblom, the Navigator Director at the Academy and investing one on one in the lives of those God directs.
