Current Research

My research is in electronic theory of magnetism and magnetotransport; some of the current topics are:

  • Thermal effects in the electronic structure and transport properties of magnetic materials and heterostructures
  • Surface magnetism of magnetoelectric antiferromagnets, particularly chromia (collaboration with Christian Binek and Peter Dowben)
  • Development of Gd-doped oxides for neutron detection technology (collaboration with Peter Dowben)
  • Phase transformations in confined nanosystems (collaboration with Jeff Shield)
