Call for Applications 2009-10

What: Applications are being requested for small classroom projects which will improve the teaching of writing in Nebraska schools. NeWP will award 14 to 16 mini-grants (up to $200 each) for the 2009-2010 school year. Imagine what you could do!

  • Create writing partners at a school across the state.
  • Develop a community writing club with your students.
  • Sponsor a community poetry reading.
  • Fund a field trip to a colorful historical location.
  • Bring in a guest adult listener to share writing or reading with your students.
  • Develop young author publications.
  • Bridge oral town histories with student writing.
  • Enlarge your students' environment with excursions.
  • Make available Nebraska authors.
  • Incorporate multi-media composing.
  • Produce a multi-media, multi-learner community Literacy Night.
  • And much more!

Who: Any past participant in a Nebraska Writing Project Institute may apply.

Where: Any Nebraska School
