"Celebrating Rural Poetry" events continued at the Nebraska State Capitol Building in Lincoln on May 5. Nebraska poets Twyla Hansen and Bill Kloefkorn, judges of the poetry competition, joined the ten winning High School poets in reading their work. Winning poetry may be read at the Rural Trust website.

The Celebration culminated at the Library of Congress on May 8, 2006, with a poet from each of the eight Rural Poetry sites across the country
reading their work. Tracy Fessler from Fillmore Central High School, was chosen to represent Nebraska. She was accompanied by Sharon Bishop,
Nebraska coordinator for the project.
