NeWP Professional Writing Retreat

Apply now for the Nebraska Writing Project's Inaugural

Professional Writing RetreatSandhills

June 28-30, 2010

While previous NeWP writing retreats have supported the development of personal and creative writing, this writing retreat will focus on developing writing intended for professional audiences and publications. Such publication opportunities might include submissions to NWP publications such as The Voice or The Quarterly, national publications such as English Journal, local professional development workshops, and proposals for professional conferences. The structure of this retreat is designed to accommodate writers at any level in their development.

The NeWP Professional Writing Retreat offers:

  • an opportunity for un-interrupted, focused, productive writing,
  • small writing groups and opportunities to share writing,
  • the highly supportive writing community of Writing Project teacher-consultants.

The retreat is limited to 10 participants. The Nebraska Writing Project will cover the costs of private rooms and meals. Participants are responsible for travel costs and incidentals.
