Youth Writing Festivals 2012 - Kearney/Elkhorn
NeWP Begins Youth Writing Festivals!
2012 marks the first year of Youth Writing Festivals for NeWP.
"At these writing festivals we will be providing the students with a variety of session options including non-fiction, different forms of creative writing and insights into an author's life. The students will be able to go to three different sessions and there will be an opportunity for an open mic/sharing session at the end of the festival.
Our hope is to also provide the teachers who accompany these students a chance to network with other Nebraska teachers and to find out information about NeWP and how it can help and benefit them as teachers of writing and writers themselves."
The first event, the Eastern Nebraska festival will be held at Elkhorn South High School on Saturday, March 3rd, 2012. Registration is due by February 15th, 2012 and is $15 and includes: a t-shirt, writing notebook, and pencil. Registrations postmarked after February 15th will be $20 and supplies subject to availability.
The Central Nebraska festival at the University of Nebraska-Kearney on Saturday, April 28th, 2012. Registration for this festival is due on April 1st, 2012. Registrations postmarked after that date will be $20 and supplies subject to availability.
