The
Center for Nontraditional Manufacturing Research was established
in 1988 in the Department of Industrial and Management systems
Engineering with funding from the Nebraska Research Initiative
and is the only research facility in the United States dedicated
solely to the examination of nontraditional manufacturing
methods. Projects involve both basic and applied research
on numerous non traditional manufacturing processes. The Center's
research efforts are aimed at providing long-term, cost effective
production alternatives to large and small manufacturers alike.
