Related Kellogg Foundation Activities
There are two Kellogg initiatives related to the Kellogg
Higher Education
Reform Initiative, which began NN21. The common threads
among the projects are the
W.K. Kellogg Foundation's
committment to education and the participation of the thirteen
members of the Kellogg Higher Education Reform
Initiative.
Related Kellogg Foundation Activities:
Kellogg Commission on the Future of State and Land
Grand Universities
- Twenty-five land grant university presidents and chief
executive officers have been invited by the W.K. Kellogg
Foundation to rethink the role of public higher education in the
United States. The commission has recently sent an open letter
entitled
"Returning
to our Roots: The Student Experience" to the
chief executive officers of all state and land grant universities
and colleges. Several other papers are in process. A core
group of the Commission is comprised of the leaders of the
thirteen institutions with grants
like NN21 (under the Kellogg
Higher Education Reform Initiative).
Kellogg Leadership Initiative
- The W.K. Kellogg Foundation has launched a new initiative which
supports NN21 and the other projects working on higher education
reform. The leadership initiative brings together the
representatives of the thirteen grantee institutions to participate
in an eighteen-month discussion about what new forms of
leadership will be needed to guide our institutions in the future.
The project director in Nebraska is
David Brinkerhoff,
Associate Vice Chancellor at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
