If farmers and ranchers could start a sideline business in the "off season," they might
be able to remain on the farm/ranch and continue to sustain rural communities. Two
four-session workshops designed to assess and develop entrepreneurial skills in farmers/ranchers
were held, originating live in some towns and transmitted to others via satellite.
Partnerships were developed with Extension offices in three counties, a community college,
and private businesses.
