Coach Program
COACH: assists freshman students in establishing a sound academic "Game Plan" though tutoring services, mentoring, academic workshops and exposure to cultural campus activities.
- Academic Advising in collaboration with UNL advising units
- Bi-Weekly Mentoring
- Academic Monitoring and Reporting one to two times per semester
- Co-curricular Involvement-lunches with different speakers and programs throughout the semester
- Monthly roundtable discussions on topics pertinent to the UNL student experience
Academic Advising is one of the single most underrated elements of student success. The OASIS Program Coordinator will work closely with the student and campus advising units to assure that the student has degree applicable courses largely based on the strengths of the scholar.

Weekly Mentoring meetings with students are extremely important for trust building and accountability. IMPORTANT: Student Contacts and Tracking are mandatory
**NEW** Participants will be partnered with an upper class student in their major or desired major to assist them in the high school to college transition.
Academic Progress Monitoring and Reporting -- Each student will be required to complete an academic progress report signed by each professor 1-2 times per semester (6th and/or 11th week), depending on academic status.
Co-curricular Involvement -- Students will be encouraged to attend student luncheons, financial advising programs, cultural enrichment programs and university sponsored programs, i.e. African People's Union (APU), Mexican American Student Association (MASA), University of Nebraska Inter-Tribal Exchange (UNITE), University Program Council (UPC).
Eligible Participants: Any first-year student at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln
