NU Connections

 

Objectives

  • To provide students with a support system with a family of mentors and a connection, through those mentors, to other campus organizational resources and networks.
  • To enable students to form "family" relationships with faculty, staff and peers by establishing a sense of shared interests, space, purpose, and community.
  • To provide opportunities for social and academic support regarding the mentee's current and future academic progress/status within their respective colleges.
  • To strive to attain freshman to sophomore retention rate that mirrors the retention rate of their non-minority cohorts.

Program Highlights

NU Connections is mentoring and social support program that provides first-year undergraduate students of color, Nebraska Achievement, Davis, Heritage, Larson Gupta, and SIPS Scholarship students with a support system consisting of:

  1. A connection with a family of mentors - student peers.
  2. A connection to NU resources.
