Integrative Studies (IS)
The University of Nebraska-Lincoln is in the process of changing its general education program from the Comprehensive Education Program (CEP) to Achievement-Centered Education (ACE). Students entering the university during or prior to the 2008-09 Academic Year are expected to complete the Comprehensive Education Program of Integrative and Essential Studies courses. Students beginning their studies at UNL in 2009-2010 or later must complete ACE, unless they are transfer students.
Students who transfer* from institutions outside UNL during the following academic years: 2008-09, 2009-10, and 2010-2011 may elect to follow the bulletin published in 2008-09 or a subsequent bulletin. This transition period will be in effect until the beginning of the 2011-12 academic year, at which time students must follow the current UNL bulletin.
*Transfer students are defined as those who currently are taking or have taken more than 12 semester credits of college or university-level course work since high school graduation (according to UNL’s Undergraduate Transfer Credit Policy).
