The Transfer Connection
Greetings,
You have not heard from me in a bit as I took some vacation to spend some time with family and then have been in Chicago at a conference. Would you believe several sessions at the conference dealt with time management and efficient organization? These are certainly skills you are learning as you juggle work and/or family with assignments, projects, and group work in your classes and they will continue to be important in your work life as well. Take advantage of workshops and training opportunities, but also be conscious of your time management techniques. Spend some time organizing yourself and your space so that you can work more efficiently. There are tools available to help you, both in book form and on-line.
Here is a workshop that can help you more efficiently cite references in your papers.
Manage citations and create bibliographies with RefWorks! Attend the RefWorks workshop Wed. April 22 3-4:30 p.m. in Love Library South Room 111. Contact Brian Keiser at bkeiser2@unl.edu or 472-3411 to sign up. RefWorks automatically formats citations or references in the style you need, imports citations from databases such as Academic Search Premier and PsycINFO, and allows you to share references with classmates. Its Write-N-Cite utility pulls citations into your paper as you type. RefWorks is available from the Libraries at http://iris.unl.edu
Have specific RefWorks questions? Staff can answer questions - set up an appointment with cadams6@unl.edu or AIM/MEEBO: CAdamsUNL or drop in at N202 Love Library.
